"We Will Safeguard Livelihoods, the Economy, and the Lives of Ordinary Citizens"
The Gwangju City Party of the Democratic Party of Korea held a Lunar New Year welcome event for returning travelers on the 25th at Gwangju Songjeong Station and the Youth Square Gwangju Intercity Bus Terminal Plaza. About 100 participants, including Chairman Yang Bunam, local members of the National Assembly, district mayors, party-affiliated local councilors, and party members, took part in the event. The Gwangju City Chapter of the Democratic Party of Korea welcomed travelers returning home for the Lunar New Year at Gwangju Songjeong Station and the plaza of U-Square Gwangju Bus Terminal on the 25th.
The welcoming events held separately at Gwangju Songjeong Station and U-Square Gwangju Bus Terminal were attended by over 100 people, including Chairman Yang Bunam (representing Seo-gu Eul), local National Assembly members from Gwangju (Ahn Dogeol, Cho Incheol, Jung Junho, Jeon Jinsook, Park Kyuntaek, Min Hyungbae), three district mayors (Kim Ikang, mayor of Seo-gu; Kim Byungnae, mayor of Nam-gu; Park Byungkyu, mayor of Gwangsan-gu), local council members affiliated with the party, and key party members.
The Gwangju City Chapter conveyed greetings to travelers returning to their hometowns for the holiday, wishing them a hopeful new year and good health.
Chairman Yang Bunam stated, "With the current impeachment crisis, everyday life for ordinary people is becoming increasingly difficult," and added, "However, we will now restore politics to take care of people's livelihoods, the economy, and the lives of ordinary citizens."
Chairman Yang further said, "Let us all join forces to overcome these difficult times," and wished everyone a peaceful and joyful holiday.
Meanwhile, elected officials from the Democratic Party's Gwangju City Chapter are continuing their efforts to listen to public sentiment by visiting traditional markets and welfare facilities ahead of the holiday.
