The Hoban Cultural Foundation recruited applicants through an online application process for one month in September last year. After document and interview evaluations, the final selected artists are Kang Sang-woo, Park So-young, Yoon Tae-jun, Lee Ji-woong, and Cho Eun-sol. Each will continue their creative activities exploring themes such as contemporary media, the relationship between humans and nature, the boundary between reality and virtuality, personal memory, and the connectivity between the body and plants. Additionally, two theorists who will support publishing and research activities will be selected later through recommendations from the art community.

The selected artists will be provided with individual creative spaces within H Art Lab located in Gwangju Metropolitan City, and various activities such as exhibitions, research projects, and artist-theorist matching programs will be supported. Previous terms received positive evaluations through veteran artist lectures, critique sessions, and symposiums, and the 3rd term is also expected to produce diverse outcomes encompassing various regions and genres.

The Hoban Cultural Foundation is carrying out various projects to support creative activities and expand the public’s artistic experiences for the development of the domestic cultural and artistic community. Notable initiatives include the exhibition space ‘Art Space Hohwa,’ the ‘Hoban Art Award’ supporting mid-career and veteran artists, and the ‘Art Workshop’ for people with developmental disabilities, contributing to the expansion and qualitative improvement of Korea’s cultural arts base.

A representative of the Hoban Cultural Foundation stated, “The 3rd term of H Art Lab consists of artists from diverse backgrounds and genres, so even more colorful results are expected,” and added, “The foundation will continue to support creative activities for the development of domestic culture and arts.”
