A Total of 46,001 Graduates Produced
Gwangju Jeil High School has produced its 100th graduating class, 105 years after its founding.
Jeil High School announced that 192 students graduated at its 100th graduation ceremony held in the school auditorium on the 24th.

Including this year, Jeil High School has produced a total of 46,001 graduates.
Jeil High School opened in 1920 as Gwangju High School of General Education, later became Gwangju Seogong Public Middle School in 1938, and was renamed Gwangju Jeil High School in 1953. Including this year, the total number of graduates is 46,001.
Throughout its long history, Jeil High School has contributed to the Gwangju Student Independence Movement, the student volunteer army during the Korean War, and the democratization movement, while also nurturing many talented individuals.
On this day, Hong Kyungpyo, president of the alumni association, said, "I hope our juniors will maintain their identity as Gwangju Ilgo students and consistently pursue their dreams."
Sung Jaemin, the representative of the graduating class, said, "I felt proud to be a Gwangju Ilgo student thanks to the heartfelt congratulations and encouragement from our seniors," and added, "I will do my best to become a person who contributes to society, just like our seniors."
