POSCO Gwangyang Steelworks (Director Ko Jaeyoon) announced on the 24th that it held a 'Love Sharing Blood Donation Event' on the 23rd to practice sharing life in celebration of the new year of Eulsanyeon.

Since 1998, Gwangyang Steelworks has been holding the 'Love Sharing Blood Donation Event' every month for 27 years to contribute to the stabilization of blood supply and to lead the spread of a culture of sharing through blood donation. In recognition of its efforts to promote blood donation culture, the company received a commendation from the Minister of Health and Welfare in 2015 and 2021.

On this day, Gwangyang Steelworks arranged blood donation buses at two locations, the Production Control Center (PCO) and the Welfare Center, to make it more convenient for employees wishing to donate blood and to encourage greater participation.

Employees who visited the blood donation buses received thorough health checks before donating, including detailed examinations of anemia levels, blood pressure, and pulse, so they could safely participate in sharing love through blood donation. Employees who were unable to donate blood contributed by donating blood donation certificates they had received from previous donations, helping to support the blood supply.

Thanks to the active participation of Gwangyang Steelworks employees, the cumulative number of participants in the blood donation events has reached 27,703.

A Gwangyang Steelworks representative stated, "Since blood cannot be artificially manufactured, it is essential for many people to participate in blood donation," and added, "We will continue to encourage more employees to participate in blood donation so that Gwangyang Steelworks can continue to share precious life with the local community."

Meanwhile, Gwangyang Steelworks is also actively working to promote the health of local residents and create a safe environment by conducting outreach CPR training, installing fire detectors, providing volunteer medical services, offering first aid training, and installing ramps and handrails for people with disabilities, along with blood donation events.
