The Suwon Southern Fire Station in Gyeonggi Province will conduct fire safety inspections of vulnerable residential facilities until the 28th.
This fire safety inspection will focus on residents of vulnerable residential facilities such as jjokbangchon (small rooms) and vinyl greenhouses.
The main inspection items include ▲strengthening safety management in high-risk areas such as jjokbangchon ▲promoting on-site awareness by the heads of relevant offices for vulnerable targets ▲joint inspections with related organizations such as city and county disaster departments ▲replacement of security windows in semi-basement houses and support for basic firefighting facilities.

Um Tae-bok, head of the Fire Prevention Division at Suwon Southern Fire Station, stated, "With the upcoming Lunar New Year holiday, we will do our best at the fire department to ensure that vulnerable residents can also have a warm and safe holiday through fire safety measures for vulnerable residential facilities."
Meanwhile, over the past five years (2019?23), there have been a total of 1,216 fire incidents in vulnerable residential facilities within Suwon city, resulting in 84 casualties including 12 deaths and 72 injuries, and property damage amounting to 12.8 billion KRW.
