This education was organized to help foster a proper understanding of elderly human rights and to protect the rights of elderly residents using the facilities, as well as to prevent abuse.

Operators and workers of elderly welfare facilities and long-term care institutions are required to complete elderly human rights education (4 hours) and elder abuse prevention education (1 hour) once a year.

Until now, each facility and individual had to complete mandatory education separately, causing inconvenience, but this time, a professional instructor from the Gyeongbuk Eastern Elder Protection Agency was invited to conduct group education, receiving great response.

In particular, during this education, five exemplary workers who contributed to the promotion of elderly human rights and welfare improvement were awarded commendations from the county governor, and a ‘Commendation Ceremony for Meritorious Persons in Elderly Human Rights Promotion’ was held to encourage their efforts, adding greater significance.

The workers who attended the education said, “This education was very beneficial as it served as an opportunity to raise awareness about protecting the rights of the elderly and preventing abuse,” and “It was a meaningful occasion to gather and interact with colleagues.”

County Governor Yoon Kyung-hee said, “I hope this education was a meaningful time to raise awareness about elderly human rights,” and added, “We will strive even more to improve the treatment and welfare of workers who dedicate themselves with a spirit of sacrifice and service for the happy lives of the elderly.”
