Hampyeong County, Jeollanam-do, announced on the 24th that it will operate the "Our Village Small Health Center" to bridge the gap in health management among local residents and improve their quality of life.
The Our Village Small Health Center is a collaborative effort between Hampyeong County Public Health Center, the Resident Welfare Division, and Hampyeong-eup. Every Wednesday, they visit senior community centers to provide integrated health and welfare services directly to residents.
The Hampyeong County Public Health Center offers a variety of health management services for residents, including basic health check-ups, smoking cessation and alcohol moderation counseling, chronic disease management, early dementia screening, and mental health counseling. They also run health promotion programs such as recreation and singing classes.
The Resident Welfare Division supports welfare services that help restore vitality to life, such as nail art, foot massage, skin care, and hair dyeing. Hampyeong-eup shares useful administrative information, including county government news, to strengthen connections within the local community.
County Governor Lee Sangik stated, "This program plays a significant role in addressing welfare and health disparities caused by individual health issues, lack of information, and accessibility problems with Hampyeong County institutions. We will do our best to expand it to all eight towns in the region so that our residents can enjoy healthy and happy lives."
