Wando Arboretum, part of the Jeollanam-do Forest Research Institute, announced that it will offer free admission to visitors for four days from the 27th to the 30th in celebration of the Lunar New Year holiday.
This free admission event aims to allow returning residents and tourists visiting Jeollanam-do during the holiday to experience nature more closely by enjoying forest recreation and walking through the evergreen warm-temperate forest of the arboretum.
The main facilities open to the public include 31 specialized gardens, the Forest Museum, a subtropical greenhouse, walking trails, and hiking paths, covering both indoor and outdoor attractions.
Wando Arboretum is the largest warm-temperate arboretum in Korea, spanning 2,033 hectares and home to more than 814 native plant species such as camellia and red oak. Even in winter, it boasts evergreen forest resources and offers visitors the chance to enjoy a pristine natural landscape where lush forests meet the sea.
Oh Deuksil, Director of the Jeollanam-do Forest Research Institute, said, "I hope families can come together and find healing at Wando Arboretum, the largest warm-temperate forest in the country, during the 2025 Lunar New Year holiday."
