Discovering Alley Travel Courses Centered on Seven Attractions

Gwangju Dong-gu (District Mayor Lim Taek) established the 'Dong-gu Tourism Promotion Master Plan' and held a sharing session for all staff on the 23rd.
During the session, District Mayor Lim Taek explained the 'Gwangju Dong-gu Tourism Promotion Master Plan' and engaged in communication with the staff.
Go Doohwan, Chairman of the Fair Tourism Forum and CEO of Gonggammanse Co., Ltd., delivered a keynote lecture on 'Policies for the Necessity and Expansion of Sustainable Tourism.'
The vision of 'Gwangju Dong-gu, an Urban Stay-type Art Travel City' was selected, and the district announced four major development strategies and eleven key initiatives to achieve the following goals by 2026: attracting five million domestic and international tourists, ranking in the Top 10 domestic stay-type night tourism cities, and achieving 160 billion KRW in tourism revenue.
Additionally, the district adopted 'Art Travel Gwangju Dong-gu-rang' as its tourism brand and unveiled the character 'Yesullora'?who explores the original downtown alleys full of stories?along with its BI (Brand Identity).
The district plans to discover alley travel courses centered around seven attractive attractions and experiences, and to operate 'Dong-gu Chilseong (Colorful Star Road),' a unique Dong-gu feature inspired by colors symbolizing each course.
District Mayor Lim Taek stated, “We will achieve our goal of becoming Korea’s leading tourism city according to the mid- and long-term roadmap of the Tourism Promotion Master Plan,” adding, “We will strengthen tourism infrastructure and content so that when people think of 'art,' Gwangju Dong-gu comes to mind, making it a place people want to visit and stay.”
