New Village Bus Routes Gwangju 15 and 16 to Be Established
Improved Accessibility and Convenience for Residents in Taejeon and Gosan Areas
Gwangju City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Bang Se-hwan) announced on the 23rd that it will establish new village bus routes Gwangju 15 and 16 starting February 3rd to respond to the increasing population and traffic demand in the Taejeon and Gosan areas.
This new route establishment was prepared to alleviate transportation inconveniences for local residents increased by the move-in of new apartment complexes and to improve accessibility to public transportation.
Both routes will operate from 6:30 AM to 8:30 PM, with Gwangju 15 running 13 times a day and Gwangju 16 running 21 times a day.
The Gwangju 15 route, starting from Opo Zai Object, circulates through the Taejeon and Gosan areas, expanding residents' living zones and providing convenient transfers, and is expected to contribute to improving students' commuting environment.
The Gwangju 16 route, also starting from Opo Zai Object and passing through Gwangju Station, was newly established to strengthen local residents' access to the metropolitan area through connection with the Gyeonggang Line and to enhance the efficiency of public transportation use.
Mayor Bang Se-hwan stated, “We expect that the opening of these village bus routes will improve transportation convenience for residents in the Taejeon and Gosan areas,” and added, “The city will continue to create a better living environment through improvements in public transportation.”
Meanwhile, detailed operation times and routes can be found on the Gwangju City Hall website, and inquiries can be made to the Bus Operation Team of the Smart Transportation Division at Gwangju City Hall for further information.
