Designated as the "Seol Holiday Special Response Period"
from January 25 to February 2
Paju City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Kim Kyung-il) announced on the 23rd that it has designated the period from the 25th to February 2nd as the "Seol Holiday Special Response Period" and plans to operate an emergency medical service system to ensure no inconvenience in using medical services during the holiday.
The city will operate an emergency medical situation room to ensure smooth emergency medical services during the holiday period. The emergency medical situation room will treat general patients and check the operation of medical institutions and pharmacies open during the holiday to guide their use. In addition, it will maintain an emergency contact system with related organizations to respond promptly in case of emergencies.
The city has communicated with local medical institutions and pharmacies to identify in advance the emergency medical institutions, clinics, and pharmacies open during the Seol holiday.
Four emergency medical institutions and emergency medical facilities in the area will operate emergency rooms 24 hours a day, and the number of clinics and medical institutions operating in the area will be 111 on the 27th, 32 on the 28th, 14 on the 29th, and 34 on the 30th.
In addition, to prepare for the recent surge in influenza, the city investigated whether cooperative hospitals are designated to which suspected influenza patients in local nursing hospitals can be promptly transferred for treatment, and checked to ensure smooth transfer and transportation during the holiday period.
Mayor Kim Kyung-il of Paju said, "We will operate the emergency medical situation room during the holiday period to establish an emergency medical system so that visitors returning to their hometowns and citizens can spend the Seol holiday comfortably," and added, "We will maintain a seamless medical system by closely cooperating with related organizations to respond quickly in case of emergencies."
