Pocheon City Holds Sohul District Parent Association Meeting with Parents

Pocheon City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Baek Young-hyun) announced on the 22nd that it held a parent association meeting for the Soheul area (Soheul-eup, Gasan-myeon) at the Soheul-eup Administrative Welfare Center on the 21st.

This was the second meeting following the parent association meeting for the Ildong area (Ildong, Idong, Naechon, Hwacheon) held at the Ildong-myeon Administrative Welfare Center. It was organized to listen to the opinions of local parents and discuss the direction of educational development in Pocheon City through communication with parents.

About 30 parent association executives from elementary, middle, and high schools located in Soheul-eup and Gasan-myeon attended along with Mayor Baek Young-hyun and city officials. After an explanation of Pocheon City's 2025 education policy, the meeting proceeded with discussions with the parents.

The attending parents expressed their opinions, stating, "To improve the quality of education in Pocheon City, it is necessary to improve the school education environment and commuting conditions and for the city to provide continuous support for academic advancement. It would also be good to continuously offer students various career exploration opportunities, such as in arts and physical education."

Mayor Baek Young-hyun of Pocheon City said, "Pocheon City is striving to create an educational environment where every child can nurture their dreams, and we are doing our best so that parents can trust and entrust their children to us. Based on the opinions shared at this meeting, we will promote more practical and effective education policies."

Pocheon City plans to hold sequential regional meetings, following the Ildong area on the 16th and the Soheul area on the 21st, with the Yeongjung area on February 3rd and the Gunnae area on February 6th.
