Yeoju City, Disaster Safety Preparedness Inspection Ahead of Lunar New Year Holiday

Yeoju City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Lee Chung-woo) announced on the 22nd that on the 21st, a practical training session was held for emergency duty personnel at the Disaster and Safety Situation Room of the City Hall, chaired by Kim Yeon-seok, Director of Citizen Safety Division, to review measures for disaster and safety accident prevention during the Lunar New Year holiday period.

This training focused on comprehensive response measures to prepare for various disaster situations expected during the Lunar New Year holiday, such as winter natural disasters like heavy snow and cold waves, as well as fire response.


In particular, practical and systematic training was conducted on the role of the Yeoju Disaster and Safety Situation Room, which will operate 24 hours a day during the holiday period, and on initial response procedures.


Yeoju City inspected the disaster management system with the goal of strengthening response capabilities in the event of a disaster by ▲checking the situation-sharing system with related organizations ▲familiarizing with the procedures for broadcasting disaster text messages ▲learning how to prepare disaster situation reports and enhancing initial disaster response capabilities.


Additionally, Yeoju City is maintaining a close cooperative system with related agencies and partner organizations such as the Yeoju Fire Station and Yeoju Police Station to thoroughly prepare for various situations that may occur during the Lunar New Year holiday.


Kim Yeon-seok, Director of Citizen Safety Division, said, “During the Lunar New Year holiday, all emergency duty personnel will do their best to ensure citizens’ safety as the top priority through swift and accurate responses,” and added, “We ask for the active cooperation of all personnel dedicated to disaster response and related organizations.”


Yeoju City plans to devote all efforts to disaster prevention and safety management so that citizens can spend the holiday safely and comfortably during the holiday period.
