Kim Dong-yeon, Governor of Gyeonggi Province, urged the government to provide livelihood recovery support funds through a selective support method focusing on vulnerable groups before the Lunar New Year holiday.

Kim Dong-yeon, who left the country on the 18th to attend the 'Davos Forum,' warned on the 22nd in a post on his social media (SNS) that "we must not waste any more 'economic time.'"

He emphasized, "Since the government has agreed to review this, we should immediately activate the National Policy Council and discuss the 'Super Livelihood Supplementary Budget' as the first agenda item," adding, "The livelihood field is urgent. We must reach an agreement before the Lunar New Year."

He continued, "Let's invest as quickly and as largely as possible in livelihood economic support, future food source investment, and livelihood recovery support funds," and proposed, "The livelihood recovery support fund is more effective when provided selectively rather than universally to all citizens."

In particular, he added, "As I have advocated so far, providing thicker and more meticulous support to vulnerable groups is essential to achieve the goals of livelihood stabilization and economic revitalization."
