Goal Achieved Early with 9 Days Left
Jeonnam Love Thermometer Hits 117 Degrees
"We Will Do Our Best to Share the Donations with Our Neighbors"
Despite the economic downturn caused by the December 3 Martial Law Emergency, the Love Thermometer in Gwangju and Jeonnam is heating up.
According to the Gwangju and Jeonnam Community Chest of Korea on the 22nd, the Gwangju Love Thermometer for the 'Hope 2025 Sharing Campaign' reached 108.6 degrees as of this day. The Gwangju Community Chest of Korea set a fundraising goal of 5.12 billion won from December 1 last year to the 31st of this month and has been running the campaign.
With nine days remaining until the end, Gwangju had already collected 5.56 billion won, achieving the fundraising goal ahead of schedule. This is about 1.1 times higher than the same period last year (4.89 billion won).
The Jeonnam Community Chest of Korea also achieved its Hope 2025 Sharing Campaign goal of 11.39 billion won on the 9th. As of the previous day, the total amount raised in Jeonnam was 13.41 billion won, with the Love Thermometer reaching 117.7 degrees.
Although the Gwangju and Jeonnam Hope 2025 Sharing Campaign has reached its goal, special fundraising and other campaign activities will continue until the end of this month. The Love Thermometer rises by 1 degree for every 1% increase toward the fundraising goal.
A representative from the Gwangju Community Chest of Korea said, "We are grateful for the donations made for our neighbors despite the economic downturn and recession," adding, "We will do our best to ensure that the funds raised through the campaign are used for regional development and sharing with neighbors."
