The Ministry of Justice escort vehicle carrying President Yoon departed from the Armed Forces Seoul District Hospital in Jongno-gu, Seoul, around 8:43 p.m. that day, heading to Seoul Detention Center in Uiwang-si, Gyeonggi Province.
President Yoon, who attended the third hearing of the impeachment trial held at the Constitutional Court that afternoon, visited the hospital before returning to the detention center.
Yoon’s lawyer, Yoon Gap-geun, told reporters, "This treatment was recommended by the attending physician a month ago, but it was postponed repeatedly. It was decided that it could no longer be delayed, so the treatment was received today," adding, "It is difficult to disclose the details of the treatment."
The Ministry of Justice also explained, "In accordance with the Execution of Sentences Act and related laws and procedures, medical treatment was conducted yesterday by the medical officer at Seoul Detention Center, and considering the medical officer’s opinion, permission was obtained from the warden to visit an external medical facility for treatment."
It was reported that there are no particular abnormalities in President Yoon’s current health condition.
