This briefing session was conducted in collaboration with the Ecological River Division to provide residents with detailed information about the pedestrian bridge (Swing Bridge), including its facility overview, design and installation process, and safety guidelines. Through this, it became an opportunity to share improvements in the local living environment with residents and to increase understanding and interest in the Swing Bridge.
The Wangsukcheon Swing Bridge is a new type of pedestrian bridge designed to resolve inconveniences and accident risks caused by the use of stepping stones, and it is attracting more attention as the only pedestrian bridge in Gyeonggi Province.
It is designed to fold when the water flow increases to ensure safety, with completion targeted for March.
About 80 people attended the on-site briefing, including local residents, the Dasan 1-dong Community Leaders Association, Social Organizations Council, related experts, and public officials.
The attendees directly confirmed the safety and practicality of the Swing Bridge and expressed expectations that it would greatly alleviate the inconvenience and accident risks of crossing Wangsukcheon.
Center Director Lee Gi-bok said, “The temporary opening of the Swing Bridge is an important first step that will bring practical changes to residents’ daily lives,” adding, “We will continue to monitor and improve local issues that residents can feel.”
