This event was organized to revitalize the traditional markets and local economy, which have been struggling due to the decline in local commercial districts and decreased sales.

Starting with Hyeonseo Traditional Market on January 21 and ending with Hyeondong Traditional Market on the 25th, about 600 participants including county officials, local institutions, and organizations will purchase ritual items and take the lead in revitalizing traditional markets while also gauging public sentiment on the local economy.

The county plans to monitor the price trends of essential Lunar New Year goods and operate a price inspection team to prevent excessive price hikes and collusion, thereby aiming to stabilize prices for ordinary citizens. Efforts are also being made to create a clean and safe market environment through quarantine measures and environmental maintenance.

County Governor Yoon Kyung-hee has instructed all staff, except essential personnel, to actively participate in the event to stimulate the domestic economy.

Governor Yoon said, “We have prepared this shopping event to breathe new life into traditional markets struggling due to the economic downturn and to provide some support to the local economy in time for the upcoming Lunar New Year holiday. We hope that residents will also enjoy a happy Lunar New Year by purchasing high-quality and affordable agricultural specialties and ritual items at traditional markets.”
