BPA, Smart Port Logistics Regional Innovation Project Technology Development Achievements Workshop

Busan Port Authority (BPA, President Kang Jun-seok) will hold the 2nd Year Local Government-University Cooperation-Based Regional Innovation Project (RIS) Technology Development Performance Workshop at Paradise Hotel on the 22nd.

The RIS project is an initiative promoted by the Ministry of Education and local governments to establish an innovative ecosystem based on partnerships between local governments and universities, focusing on talent development, job creation, and improvement of living conditions. In Busan, 14 regional universities including Korea Maritime and Ocean University, as well as about 90 local institutions and companies, are participating.

BPA is participating as the lead organization in the "O2O (Offline to Online) Port Logistics Enterprise Support Sandbox Construction" project within the "Smart Port Logistics" field, one of the three core areas of the regional innovation platform.

The three core areas are Smart Port Logistics, Eco-friendly Smart Ships, and Clean Energy Convergence Components and Materials.

As the second-year projects are scheduled to conclude in February, BPA has prepared the workshop to share port-related research results from participating universities and companies, aiming to create opportunities for technology convergence and new technology idea generation.

A total of 13 research projects will be presented, including DNA-based port logistics advancement, intelligent technology development, and the construction of the O2O port logistics enterprise support sandbox.

Kang Jun-seok, President of BPA, stated, “We will continue to strive to lead the innovation and smartization of the port logistics industry at Busan Port and contribute to the establishment and activation of the regional innovation platform.”
