Dongducheon City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Park Hyeong-deok) announced on the 21st that it has established the "2025 Dongducheon City Disaster Relief Plan" to strengthen disaster relief response capabilities tailored to the city's circumstances, preparing for large-scale disaster situations.
The disaster relief plan designates 26 schools and public facilities as temporary shelters to accommodate approximately 25,000 people in preparation for disaster occurrences. Additionally, 330 sets of emergency relief supplies for disaster victims are stockpiled, and the plan specifically includes the organization and personnel operation system involving private relief organizations, disaster relief education, medical care, and psychological recovery support.
Furthermore, the city has prepared for various disaster situations by establishing an emergency contact network in cooperation with local fire stations, police, and military units, and by signing advance purchase contracts for meal provision and other necessities.
Mayor Park Hyeong-deok of Dongducheon City stated, "With the establishment of the 2025 disaster relief plan for disaster victims, we can swiftly protect the safety of our citizens," and added, "Dongducheon City will continue to prioritize the safety of its citizens in its administration."
