Gyeonggi Province will implement a comprehensive plan including customized support for small business owners during the Lunar New Year holiday.
First, Gyeonggi Province will operate a price countermeasure team for essential goods, working with 31 cities and counties to inspect compliance with price and origin labeling systems, excessive fee increases, and promote the use of traditional markets and Good Price stores.
With the nationwide first small business operating expense exclusive card 'HimnaeGO Card' introduced earlier this month, businesses can receive up to 500,000 KRW per company with no annual fee or guarantee fee, cashback up to 500,000 KRW, and interest-free benefits for up to 6 months.
When purchasing Gyeonggi Province agricultural and marine products, flowers, and agricultural food products online and offline, a 20-30% discount will be supported. By city and county, the incentive discount rate for Gyeonggi local currency will be raised to 10-25%, and the limit will be increased up to 1,000,000 KRW.
Additionally, to resolve medical service gaps, a one-on-one responsible officer will be designated to intensively manage 74 emergency medical institutions, and the number of medical institutions such as clinics and pharmacies open during the holiday will be expanded from 207 last year to 306 this year. A total of 50 situation rooms will be operated at Gyeonggi Province and city/county health centers to guide emergency medical complaints and respond immediately in case of large-scale patient occurrences.
For safety management of vulnerable groups, emergency heating expenses will be supported for 310,000 households of basic livelihood security recipients and lower-income classes, and meals will be provided to 768 homeless people in need of care through public and private meal centers and facilities. In addition, the safety of about 90,000 vulnerable elderly and 64,000 vulnerable disabled persons will be pre-checked, and 170 million KRW will be supported to 700 social welfare facilities.
Gyeonggi Province will comprehensively monitor traffic conditions through a special traffic countermeasure situation room, flexibly operate intercity (direct) buses according to residents' demand, and extend the last bus times for city buses and village buses.
In particular, for intercity buses in five regions including the metropolitan area, Gangwon area, Chungcheong area, Honam area, and Yeongnam area, 44 routes and 88 buses will be added, increasing operations by 138 trips.
During the holiday period, tourist sites such as Suwon Hwaseong Fortress in Suwon, Haengju Fortress in Goyang, Uiwang Rail Park, Sanjeong Lake in Pocheon, and Jaraseom in Gapyeong will be open free of charge, and 44 barrier-free tourist sites in 23 cities and counties will be opened for tourism-vulnerable groups.
Meanwhile, if there are any inconveniences during the holiday period, residents can call the Gyeonggi Province Call Center (031-120) for assistance.
