Uljin-gun, Gyeongbuk, successfully concluded the ‘National Symphony Orchestra New Year Concert’ at the Uljin Yeonho Culture Center on the 18th.
This performance was part of the ‘Uljin-Yeongdeok Neighbor Cultural Arts Performance,’ promoted to activate cultural exchange between regions and overcome the population extinction crisis. About 50 residents from Yeongdeok-gun were invited, and approximately 400 audience members attended the concert.
The National Symphony Orchestra, a pillar in the history of Korean symphonic music, performed classical masterpieces, accompanied by world-renowned musicians including harmonica player Park Jong-seong, soprano Kim Soon-young, tenor Son Ji-hoon, and bass baritone Jeon Tae-hyun, receiving enthusiastic applause from the audience.
The first part featured harmonica performances by Park Jong-seong, while the second part was filled with beautiful melodies delivered by the three vocalists Kim Soon-young, Son Ji-hoon, and Jeon Tae-hyun.
Starting with this New Year concert, Uljin-gun plans to present various planned performances to its residents throughout the year.
Son Byung-bok, the county governor, said, “I am pleased to host a large-scale classical concert, and it was a meaningful time to enjoy it together by inviting residents of Yeongdeok. We will continue to provide high-quality performances to bring small joys and happiness to the daily lives of our residents throughout this year.”
