On the 20th, the Daegu Bukbu Police Station announced that they are investigating Mr. A, in his 60s, on charges of special assault.
Mr. A is accused of assaulting his wife while intoxicated at their apartment residence in Buk-gu at around 7:30 a.m. on the 19th.
According to the police investigation, Mr. A committed the crime after becoming angry when his wife lost money investing his retirement funds in stocks. After the assault, Mr. A threatened his wife with a weapon, saying "Let's all die." It was confirmed that the wife had been managing Mr. A’s retirement funds for the past two to three years.
The police plan to investigate the specific circumstances of the incident.
