The ‘Hope Box’ from the Yangpyeong-gun Entrepreneurs Association is a sponsored item provided quarterly to families with a third child or more in the region through a business agreement (MOU) with Yangpyeong-gun. Since 2020, it has supported about 270 families (worth approximately 67 million KRW). The ‘Hope Box’ is operated by local entrepreneurs voluntarily donating sponsored goods, which are then delivered to families with newborns, aiming to reduce the economic burden on childbirth families and foster a favorable atmosphere for multi-child families.
This quarter’s items include: soy sauce from Gwangiwon (CEO Lee Moon-su); a snack set from Renewal Life Agricultural Corporation (CEO Jang Ik-soon); three types of cosmetics from Ace Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. (CEO Ahn Ok-hyun); rice noodles from Greenmax Co., Ltd. (CEO Jung Yeon-se); soybean paste and fermented soybean paste from Jeolgol Farm (CEO Park Hyun-woo); 10 packs of spicy chicken soup from Jeonggeum F&C Co., Ltd. (CEO Jung Chang-gyo); one box of baby pear juice from Midian Agricultural Corporation (CEO Kwon Yoon-joo); rice from Yangpyeong Pork Agricultural Cooperative Corporation (CEO Han Byung-hee); one box of brown rice nurungji from Supssok Garden Co., Ltd. (CEO Seo Young-sook); and one 2kg bag of Yangpyeong rice from Yangpyeong-gun Nonghyup Cooperative Joint Business Corporation (CEO Lee Jong-moon). The Yangpyeong-gun Nonghyup Cooperative Joint Business Corporation joined the support starting this quarter (a new agreement is scheduled for February 2025) to strengthen the assistance.
Kim Kwang-il, President of the Yangpyeong-gun Entrepreneurs Association, stated, “I hope that through the cooperation and support of local businesses, we can provide practical help to families with newborns and overcome the national issue of low birth rates.”
Jeon Jin-seon, Governor of Yangpyeong-gun, said, “The delivered support items will be a great help for many families to raise their children in a stable environment,” adding, “We will continue to promote childbirth encouragement and childcare support to make Yangpyeong a great place to have and raise children.”
