Sonide announced on the 20th that its subsidiary Sonide AI is entering the defense business in South Korea in collaboration with a major domestic telecommunications company based on an 'AI perimeter security system.'
According to the company, the AI perimeter security system has recently attracted attention as a solution to the issue of decreasing military personnel. After conducting a pilot project targeting the military this year, it plans to expand its application to the entire armed forces in the future.
In particular, the company explained that building an AI perimeter security system requiring security is possible without location or regional restrictions through the telecommunications company's secure communication network, meeting the military's needs.
Sonide AI's AI perimeter security system is also expected to serve as a solution for Ukraine's reconstruction efforts. If a ceasefire or armistice is established in Ukraine, a second DMZ could be created, and there is a possibility that the AI perimeter security system applied to the Korean Peninsula's armistice line, the world's only divided nation, could be applied to Ukraine.
Sonide AI's on-device AI video analysis solution 'Brainbot' is equipped with a visual language model (VLM) to upgrade existing CCTV to AI CCTV, enabling real-time response to front-line perimeter security. In particular, by integrating CMOS (Complementary Metal-Oxide-Semiconductor) image sensor technology from Claire Pixel, a subsidiary of Sonide, it has evolved into a more advanced AI perimeter security system.
Claire Pixel's 'RGBiR technology' can capture clear images regardless of day or night. Applying this technology allows early detection of abnormal objects regardless of time. It enables clear video capture at night without thermal imaging equipment, reducing installation costs. In the future, it can be applied for security and military use in high-risk areas, military zones, and the DMZ (Demilitarized Zone).
