More than 12 injury reports were received due to the attack on the Seoul Western District Court by supporters of President Yoon Suk-yeol.
The Seoul Mapo Fire Station announced that from 3 a.m. to 7 a.m. on the 19th, when the arrest warrant for President Yoon was issued, they received 12 injury reports near the Western District Court.
The fire department dispatched personnel to the scene to provide emergency treatment or transport the injured to hospitals. Since the tally is not yet complete, the number of injured may increase.
Supporters who had gathered at the Western District Court from the day before President Yoon's detention hearing and were confronting the police stormed into the court after the arrest warrant was issued.
The supporters smashed the court's main gate and glass windows with shields and plastic chairs taken from the police, entering the court premises around 3:21 a.m. They also assaulted police officers and sprayed fire extinguishers toward the police. The exterior walls of the court building were torn and damaged.
