This farm owner training was conducted by the seasonal labor officer, focusing on actual cases related to the required documents for visa issuance applications for the entry of foreign seasonal workers. It also included preventive education on the recently emerging issue of workers' human rights violations.

During the training, farm owners showed high concentration due to their strong interest in foreign seasonal workers. A variety of questions were raised during the Q&A session, and the seasonal labor officer sincerely answered them at the farm owners' level of understanding. For unusual cases, it was announced that inquiries would be made to the immigration office and explanations would be provided later.

Choi Ki-moon, Mayor of Yeongcheon City, said, "Through this farm owner training, we expect the visa issuance for workers to proceed swiftly, enabling smooth labor supply during the busy farming season." He added, "In addition to the foreign seasonal worker system, we will do our best to ensure smooth labor supply for agricultural management through centers such as the Rural Workforce Brokerage Center."

Meanwhile, Yeongcheon City signed a seasonal labor agreement with Laos last year. For the first half of the year, a total of 136 farms were assigned 361 foreign seasonal workers, of which 27 are MOU-invited workers from Laos. The visa for MOU-invited workers is issued within two weeks, significantly shortening the period compared to the three months required for visa screening of marriage immigrant invitees, which is expected to play a major role in rural labor supply.
