Second Floor of Jinwol-dong Local Food Direct Sales Store
A New Self-Directed Space for Youth Featuring Photo Booths, Karaoke, and Game Zones
A youth self-directed space equipped with various recreational facilities such as an Insaengnecut photo studio and a karaoke practice room will be established in Jinwol-dong, Nam-gu, Gwangju.
According to Nam-gu on the 17th, a youth-only space reflecting the needs and desires of young people will be created on the second floor of the local food direct sales store in Jinwol-dong.
Since the facility is for youth, the district collected a variety of opinions from students at Hyodeok Elementary School and Jinnam Middle School last year and incorporated the facilities requested by students into the design.
The project budget for creating the youth self-directed space is 370 million won, and the indoor exclusive area will be 111 square meters. Construction is scheduled to continue until April, and the opening is expected to be around May.
The interior will be filled with a variety of popular facilities among youth, including a book cafe, coin karaoke, Insaengnecut photo booth, a game zone featuring Nintendo and a PC zone, and an attic space where people can sit and talk. In addition, an outdoor terrace space will feature a camping site with tents set up on artificial grass.
A district official stated, "The youth self-directed space being created in Jinwol-dong will serve as a base-type cultural and recreational space where youth can freely engage in activities. We expect that after school, young people will be able to enjoy a pleasant and safe environment for relaxation and vibrant leisure activities."
