This meeting was organized to establish comprehensive measures for the Lunar New Year holiday and to seek ways to overcome the local economy’s sluggishness caused by economic downturn and increased uncertainty.

Amid political turmoil and worsening economic conditions, the local economy is further freezing up. To ensure public finances act as a catalyst for revitalizing citizens’ livelihoods, the city plans to rapidly execute over 500 billion KRW of its 2025 budget in the first half of the year and continuously develop policies to promote consumption and revitalize local commercial districts.

In particular, to support small business owners and self-employed individuals suffering from the economic recession and reduced consumption, the city intends to encourage participation from institutions, organizations, companies, and citizens, and create an atmosphere of shared responsibility and coexistence between the public and private sectors.

Additionally, in preparation for the upcoming Lunar New Year holiday, the city will implement comprehensive measures to improve overall public services such as transportation, cleaning, safety, medical care, and price management. The city requested utmost efforts in establishing an emergency work system during the holiday, maintaining the environment, and inspecting various facilities so that citizens can enjoy a safe and comfortable holiday, and so that visitors and those returning home can experience the transformed city.

Finally, Mayor Na Dong-yeon stated, “Even amid current political turmoil and economic difficulties, if the public service community remains steady and continues to work diligently for the happiness and development of citizens, the current crisis will be overcome.” He added, “We will carefully address the pressing issues of people’s livelihoods and ensure there is no gap in service to protect the precious daily lives and happiness of our citizens.”
