According to Uijeongbu Eulji University Hospital on the 17th, the Ministry of Health and Welfare held the first Cardiovascular and Cerebrovascular Disease Management Committee meeting of the year on the 16th and designated 10 institutions including Uijeongbu Eulji University Hospital as such.
Uijeongbu Eulji University Hospital earned the honor of being designated as a center by passing rigorous evaluations including the first written and second oral assessments among 71 medical institutions nationwide that applied.
In particular, it received high evaluations for having excellent medical staff and facilities in the underserved medical service area of the northeastern Gyeonggi region.
The Regional Cardiovascular and Cerebrovascular Disease Center plays a key role in a regional comprehensive medical system that allows patients with severe and emergency cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases to receive specialized treatment quickly within the region, providing 24-hour final treatment for acute diseases in the area.
It is also responsible for promotion and education for the prevention and management of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases and establishes a cooperative system with the Regional Cardiovascular and Cerebrovascular Disease Centers.
Uijeongbu Eulji University Hospital plans to build a cooperative system with Bundang Seoul National University Hospital, the Gyeonggi Regional Cardiovascular and Cerebrovascular Disease Center, to promptly transfer patients and ensure timely treatment, thereby working to reduce regional disparities in cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases.
Hospital Director Song Hyun stated, “The designation as a Regional Cardiovascular and Cerebrovascular Disease Center is the result of expanding specialist-centered medical personnel and infrastructure and strengthening the severe and emergency medical care system since the hospital opened in 2021,” adding, “We will provide the best medical services to residents of northern Gyeonggi by adding a systematic medical system to a seamless response system for cardiovascular and cerebrovascular disease patients.”
Meanwhile, Uijeongbu Eulji University Hospital was also designated last year as the 2024 second phase Northern Gyeonggi Regional Emergency Medical Center by the Ministry of Health and Welfare.
