Discount Events at Dogok and Yeongdong Traditional Markets from the 17th to the 29th
Up to 20% Payback When Using Onnuri Gift Certificates

Gangnam-gu, Seoul (District Mayor Jo Seong-myeong) will hold discount events and various holiday activities at three traditional markets ahead of the Lunar New Year holiday. The events will take place from the 17th to the 29th of this month at Gangnam Gaepo Market, Dogok Market, and Yeongdong Traditional Market, offering up to 25% discounts on ceremonial items.

Gangnam Gaepo Market will hold its discount event from the 17th to the 24th, Dogok Market from the 20th to the 27th, and Yeongdong Traditional Market from the 20th to the 29th. Dogok Market and Yeongdong Traditional Market will also run a special promotion where customers using Onnuri gift certificates will receive 10-20% of their payment back as mobile gift certificates, up to a limit of 200,000 KRW per person, helping shoppers save even more.


Events reflecting the unique characteristics of each market will also be held. Various programs such as prize draws and traditional cultural experiences are prepared, and customers who spend more than 30,000 KRW on the event day (Gangnam Gaepo Market and Dogok Market on the 23rd, Yeongdong Traditional Market on the 22nd) will be offered free delivery services.


At Gangnam Gaepo Market, from 1 PM to 4 PM on the 23rd, customers who spend more than 10,000 KRW will receive prizes. Traditional cultural experiences such as rice cake pounding, jegichagi (a traditional Korean shuttlecock game), and yutnori (a traditional board game) will be available, along with sharing of injeolmi (rice cake), a game experience corner inspired by the drama "Squid Game 2," a photo zone decorated with moon-shaped balloons, and a clown balloon art booth for children.


Dogok Market will also provide prizes to customers spending over 10,000 KRW from 1 PM to 4 PM on the 23rd, and operate various play programs including tuho (arrow throwing game), jegichagi, balloon popping, and a cotton candy booth.


Yeongdong Traditional Market will collaborate with local community members such as Nonhyeon Daycare Center, Nonhyeon Attached Kindergarten, and Nonhyeon Nursing Home to hold a market shopping experience event on the 20th from 11 AM to 2 PM to share the warmth of the holiday season. On the 22nd, from 11 AM to 5 PM, a prize giveaway event will be held based on purchase amounts (over 10,000 KRW and over 50,000 KRW).


Meanwhile, a traditional market shopping event involving about 200 district office employees will be held on the 23rd to boost the holiday atmosphere and invigorate the traditional markets.


Mayor Jo Seong-myeong stated, “I hope the discount events and various activities at the traditional markets will help residents enjoy a joyful and abundant holiday season,” and added, “We will continue to prepare various supports and events to revitalize traditional markets.”
