Dobong-gu 'Dong (Neighborhood) Excavation Project' Traffic · Park Greenery · Road Priority

‘Installation of Light Emitting Diode (LED) floor traffic signals’, ‘Installation of dog parking facilities in park restrooms’, ‘Expansion of road heating system installation’, ‘Improvement of pedestrian walkway environment’...

All of these are examples of projects that Dobong-gu (Mayor Oh Eon-seok) identified and promoted over the past year in 2024 by listening to residents' complaints or recognizing the need for implementation.

The district announced that last year it collected a total of 212 proposed tasks across 12 fields including park greenery, traffic, roads, and cleaning environment from 14 neighborhood community centers, and has been promptly advancing feasible projects.

From April to December last year, the district received proposed tasks every month from the 14 neighborhood community centers to resolve residents' inconveniences and enhance satisfaction with local administration.

Proposed tasks were immediately reviewed by relevant departments and projects that could be executed were initiated.

By category, traffic accounted for 54 cases, park greenery 52 cases, and roads 31 cases, with the following projects completed: ▲Installation of Light Emitting Diode (LED) floor traffic signals ▲Installation of unmanned recycling collection machines (Superbin) ▲Environmental improvement project for the pedestrian walkway in Chang 1-dong (Ssangmun Station to Changdong Cathedral).

Projects that are currently unfeasible or difficult to implement will be pursued later through system improvements and securing project funds.

A district official stated, “We will continue to receive and promote proposed tasks from neighborhood community centers every month, including those related to residents' inconveniences and conflicts of interest among many residents.”

Oh Eon-seok, Mayor of Dobong-gu, said, “As a result of communication centered on neighborhood community centers with residents, we were able to identify and promote projects closely related to residents' lives. We will continue to strengthen the neighborhood-centered complaint response system and create groundbreaking changes within the region.”
