An Pil-yeon Appointed as New CEO of Hwaseong City Culture and Tourism Foundation

"I Will Enrich the Daily Lives of Hwaseong Citizens
with Culture, Arts, and Tourism"

On the 16th, Hwaseong City in Gyeonggi Province appointed An Pil-yeon (65), a former professor at the College of Arts and Physical Education at Kyonggi University, as the 11th CEO of the Hwaseong City Culture and Tourism Foundation. An's term as CEO is two years.

CEO An earned his bachelor's and master's degrees in sculpture from Seoul National University and received a doctorate in curatorial studies from Dongduk Women's University. He has served as a professor in the Department of Three-Dimensional Arts at Kyonggi University, a visiting professor at Dowling College in the United States, and as dean of both the Graduate School of Arts and the Graduate School of Education at Kyonggi University.


He is a cultural and arts expert who has actively engaged in artistic activities by holding solo exhibitions worldwide, including at Hong Kong Science Park, Anthony Giordano Gallery in New York, Sharjah Biennale, Sculpture Square Gallery in Singapore, and Artspace Gallery in Sydney.


CEO An stated, "I will listen to the voices of the local community and strive to fill the daily lives of Hwaseong Special City citizens with culture, arts, and tourism."


Meanwhile, the Hwaseong City Culture and Tourism Foundation established a Tourism Promotion Division this year in line with the launch of the special city status. The aim is to revitalize related industries by integrating tourism with existing cultural and artistic projects.
