Yeoju City Holds Briefing on Detailed Execution Plan for '2025 Yeoju, the Year of Tourism'
Five Tourism City Strategies Announced... Total of 75 Projects Planned
"Striving to Become a Leading Tourism City Where History, Culture, and Nature Coexist"

Yeoju City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Lee Chung-woo) held a detailed execution plan briefing for the ‘2025 Yeoju, the Year of Tourism’ on the 16th at the city hall situation room. This briefing was organized as the first step toward becoming the best tourism city in Korea where history, culture, and nature coexist, and to open the era of 6 million tourists.

The briefing was attended by the mayor of Yeoju, the vice mayor, directors, heads of departments and offices, as well as the president of Yeoju Urban Corporation and the chairman of Yeoju Sejong Culture and Tourism Foundation, totaling 35 departments and 2 institution heads. Starting with the Tourism and Sports Division chief’s presentation on the 2025 Yeoju Year of Tourism promotion strategy, plans for a total of 75 projects were shared.


Under the goal of ‘2025 Yeoju, a vigorous leap toward a tourism city!’, Yeoju City presented five tourism city promotion strategies: △ Enjoy Yeoju economically (temporary free admission to paid tourist facilities within the city, discount coupons for the tourism industry) △ Yeoju at a glance (use of a unified tourism symbol image) △ Yeoju welcoming tourists together with citizens (Hello! Welcome! citizen kindness campaign and citizen resolution meeting) △ Yeoju as a well-known tourism city (broadcasting on KBS2’s 2 Days & 1 Night, focused online promotional marketing) △ Yeoju’s new leap forward (vision proclamation ceremony for the year of abundant attractions).


Mayor Lee Chung-woo of Yeoju said, “Starting from this briefing, after a focused preparation phase until April, we plan to hold a grand proclamation ceremony for the Year of Tourism and the opening ceremony of the suspension bridge on May 1, and to carry out various projects until November. We will do our best together with all public officials and citizens to leap forward as a tourism city with 6 million visitors.”


Yeoju City plans to actively reflect the opinions derived from this briefing to make 2025 a new beginning for Yeoju tourism and strive to establish itself as a representative tourism city in Korea.
