The ‘Hope 2025 Sharing Campaign’ is a donation culture expansion campaign jointly conducted by Gyeongju City and the Gyeongbuk Community Chest of Korea, running from the 1st of last month until the end of this month.
As of 9 a.m. on the 16th, donations totaling 910 million KRW have been collected. This amount far exceeds the target of 800 million KRW.
From the first day of the campaign, citizens’ interest and participation continued.
On the first day, a total of 78 million KRW was donated through 15 contributions, followed by 100 million KRW from employees of Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power and 50 million KRW from Dongsung Technical Supervision Group, supporting the spirit of sharing.
The funds collected during the campaign will be used through the Gyeongbuk Community Chest of Korea to support low-income households and social welfare facilities in the region.
Mayor Ju Nak-young of Gyeongju said, “Despite the unprecedented cold wave and economic recession, thanks to many citizens and companies participating in warm sharing, we were able to exceed our goal early,” adding, “As the campaign continues until the end of this month, I hope more citizens will participate in sharing to spread a warm culture of giving.”
Meanwhile, the ‘Hope 2025 Sharing Campaign’ runs until the 31st and anyone can participate through monetary donations and goods contributions.
