Miryang City Holds Meeting to Revitalize Operation of 'Sunshine Miryang Theme Park'

Aiming for a Leap Forward as a Distinctive Miryang-Style Tourism Resource

Miryang City in Gyeongnam held a meeting to revitalize the operation of Sunshine Miryang Theme Park as a distinctive Miryang-style tourism resource.

At the meeting held on the 15th, six major public facility operation departments and entrusted operating agencies within Sunshine Miryang Theme Park attended and proceeded in the order of reporting the 2024 operational performance and achievements, sharing the 2025 promotion plans and major events, and discussing collaborative linkage measures to revitalize the facilities.

The main issues discussed were △ reaching the break-even point by improving the profit structure of each facility △ seeking comprehensive linkage plans to expand synergy among individual facilities △ improving theme park facilities to enhance tourist satisfaction △ discovering distinctive themes differentiated from other cities and counties △ expanding linked experiences with surrounding commercial districts and tourist facilities. These will be actively utilized in various projects to revitalize the operation of Sunshine Miryang Theme Park after a prompt review process.

Sunshine Miryang Theme Park, officially opened on May 4 last year, is a new tourist attraction in Miryang with 350,000 visitors and a stay-type complex theme park. It continuously promotes differentiated experiential events, distinctive attractions, and events throughout the year for various tourists visiting Miryang, setting itself apart from other cities and counties.

Mayor Ahn Byeong-gu stated, “We will continue to actively promote collaborative linkage measures between related departments and entrusted operating agencies to ensure that Sunshine Miryang Theme Park can leap forward as a distinctive Miryang-style tourism resource.”
