Gwangju Mayor Kang Gijung visited Yeongnak Park in Buk-gu on the afternoon of the 15th to encourage the staff who devotedly supported the funeral arrangements for the victims of the Jeju Air passenger plane disaster.
On this day, Mayor Kang told the staff at Yeongnak Park, "Even in the midst of their confusion, the bereaved families expressed their gratitude to the public officials. On behalf of the families, I sincerely thank all of you who stood by their side during the most difficult moments of their lives," and added, "Thank you for wholeheartedly taking care of the deceased and comforting the families with one heart and one mind."
The staff at Yeongnak Park made every effort to ensure the smooth progress of the funeral procedures for the victims of the Jeju Air passenger plane disaster, including extending the crematorium operating hours, setting up a special memorial room for the victims, assigning dedicated staff for one-on-one support, and carrying out snow removal work to facilitate movement between the crematorium and burial site.
After encouraging the on-site staff at the Yeongnak Park crematorium, Mayor Kang held a meeting with them.
