Gwangsan-gu in Gwangju announced on the 15th that it will provide free health checkups for engaged and newlywed couples.
The program is limited to 100 couples who are either engaged or have been married for less than two years and have their address registered in Gwangsan-gu.
The checkup includes X-ray (tuberculosis), blood sugar, anemia, hepatitis B, HIV (human immunodeficiency virus), and syphilis. For women, a rubella antigen and antibody test is also conducted.
To receive the checkup, applicants need to bring one of the following documents: marriage certificate, wedding invitation, or wedding hall contract.
The test results can be checked at the public health center or through the public health portal. For more details, contact the Health Administration Division.
