For Basic Livelihood Security Recipients and the Near-Poor Class
On the 15th, Icheon City in Gyeonggi Province announced that as part of its measures to stabilize people's livelihoods, it will provide emergency heating expenses of 50,000 won to 4,713 low-income households vulnerable to winter safety.
The funding for this emergency heating expense comes from the Gyeonggi Province Disaster Relief Fund, and Icheon City received 235 million won. The city plans to allocate the emergency heating expenses as a 'pre-established budget' to ensure prompt disbursement before the Lunar New Year holiday.
To this end, the city is selecting beneficiaries through 14 eup, myeon, and dong administrative divisions, and will provide the heating expenses as soon as the collection is completed.
The support targets include basic livelihood security recipients as well as the near-poor class. However, low-income elderly winter heating expense recipients and disabled winter heating expense recipients who are already receiving support are excluded.
Kim Kyung-hee, mayor of Icheon City, said, "We will continue to provide careful and warm attention to prevent emergencies caused by heavy snow and cold waves among vulnerable groups."
