Busan Gijang-gun Continues 44th Youth Exchange with Jeonbuk Muju-gun

Sixty Youths from Both Organizations to Participate
Various Experiential Activities to Be Held in Muju from the 15th to the 17th

From the 15th to the 17th, Busan's Gijang-gun announced on the 15th that 60 youths from Gijang and Muju would participate in a youth exchange program in Muju-gun, Jeonbuk, for 2 nights and 3 days.

The "Gijang-Muju Youth Exchange Project" was established to provide youths growing up in completely different environments?coastal and mountainous regions?with various experiential opportunities. Since its inception in 1999, this year marks the 44th event, maintaining strong friendships to this day.

This exchange activity will take place at locations such as the Firefly Youth Training Center, Muju Deogyusan Resort, and Bandi Land, where participants will experience activities including ▲skiing and sledding ▲stargazing at the Muju Bandi Star Astronomy Science Center ▲and touring Bandi Land, fostering closer ties between the regions.

Notably, youths belonging to the Youth Participation Committee and the Steering Committee from both organizations will directly participate in the program, completing it and discussing various exchange projects led by the committees, thereby expanding youth involvement in the inter-organizational exchange activities.

Jung Jong-bok, the county governor, stated, “The Gijang-Muju youth exchange activity is a source of great pride for the region, with its history spanning 44 sessions,” adding, “I hope this precious opportunity allows youths from both regions to share friendships and nurture their dreams together amid blessed natural environments and excellent educational conditions.”

He continued, “We will continue close exchange activities between the two organizations so that Gijang and Muju can remain exemplary cases of inter-local government exchanges beyond regional boundaries.”

Since establishing a sisterhood relationship in 1996, Busan’s Gijang-gun and Jeonbuk’s Muju-gun have been continuously engaging in exchange and cooperation across various fields including youth exchange, agricultural and livestock products, and cultural tourism.
