'Arrest on Charges of Leading Rebellion' Yoon's Side: "Presidential Decision... No Consideration of Arrest Review"

On the 15th, the team of President Yoon Seok-yeol, who was arrested by the High-ranking Officials' Crime Investigation Division (PCC) on charges of leading a rebellion, emphasized that it was a "presidential decision" and repeatedly claimed that the execution of the arrest warrant was illegal and unjust.

On the same day, lawyer Seok Dong-hyun, representing President Yoon, held a press conference in front of the Seoul High Prosecutors' Office and stated, "Although we believe the PCC's investigation of the president is not lawful, the president made a decision to appear, so the process proceeded without conflict."

He added, "Due to concerns that the Security Office might have a serious accident if it clashed with the police, although we think the PCC's investigation or arrest attempt is clearly illegal, the president requested the legal team to negotiate the issue of unavoidable appearance, leading to discussions with the PCC."

Regarding the anticipated request for an arrest warrant for President Yoon, he said, "We strongly urge that proper procedures be followed, such as filing the request with the Seoul Central District Court from the initial stage."

Furthermore, lawyer Seok stated, "The illegal acts committed by the PCC and the police during the request, issuance, and execution of this arrest warrant must be held accountable," and added, "The president and the legal team will reveal the unfairness of the impeachment accusation and obtain a dismissal decision."

Meanwhile, when asked about attendance at the second impeachment trial scheduled for the 16th, lawyer Seok retorted, "Will he appear at the impeachment trial tomorrow?" Regarding the request for a detention review, he answered, "We are not considering it."
