20% Refund Event for Local Shopping
Up to 35% Savings with Haenam Sarang Gift Certificates
Haenam-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Myung Hyun-gwan) is launching a county-wide campaign to boost consumption in order to revitalize the local economy and stimulate the market ahead of the Lunar New Year holiday. The economic revitalization campaign, jointly organized by the county and related agencies, aims to stimulate spending at local shops that have been directly impacted by the economic downturn, thereby invigorating the regional economy.
According to the county on the 15th, various consumption promotion support events will be held alongside the local economy revitalization campaign involving county offices and related organizations.

First, those who certify their participation in the campaign on their social media or submit a receipt showing a purchase of over 10,000 KRW at a local store will be entered into a draw, with 50 winners receiving Haenam agricultural products worth 10,000 KRW each. In addition, a special “Good Consumption” event for the Lunar New Year will be held from the 20th to the 24th. Shoppers can receive back 20% of their spending at small businesses in Haenam-eup, up to a maximum of 20,000 KRW per day.
At the Haenam-eup 5-day market, the region’s representative traditional market, a “Seafood Onnuri Gift Certificate Refund Event” will take place from the 23rd to the 27th. Shoppers will receive a refund of 30% of their purchase amount for domestic seafood, up to a maximum of 20,000 KRW, in Onnuri gift certificates.
The Haenam Sarang Gift Certificate, which can be used throughout the Haenam area, will be available at a 10% discount per person up to a maximum of 1 million KRW during January. Including the 10% discount on purchase, a 20% refund through special events, and an additional 5% cashback when using mobile or card gift certificates, shoppers can save up to 35% in total.
In particular, at daily markets, the old downtown commercial revitalization area, and 5-day market stores where Onnuri gift certificates can be used, shoppers can enjoy up to 50% savings through a 15% discount on gift certificate purchases, a 20% seafood refund event, and a 15% cashback when paying with mobile or card Onnuri gift certificates.
Additionally, Haenam-gun will operate a comprehensive price control situation room as part of special measures to stabilize prices until the 26th. From the 20th to the 24th, a special period for “price stabilization and traditional market shopping” will be designated, during which a joint public-private campaign for local price stability will be conducted, along with events such as public officials shopping at traditional markets.
Governor Myung Hyun-gwan stated, “We are preparing various events to serve as a stepping stone for economic revitalization by expanding local consumption ahead of the Lunar New Year,” and added, “We will strive to bring vitality back to local businesses as soon as possible by supporting small business policies and promoting consumption.”
