Mayor Lee stated, “A major accident involving a chain collision of 105 vehicles occurred due to black ice on the Jayuro in Goyang City and the Seoul-Munsan Expressway,” adding, “We must prioritize citizen safety by thoroughly inspecting and swiftly responding, learning from Seongnam City’s case where a fire accident was managed without casualties through meticulous checks and rapid action, and reviewing the disaster response system manual.”
He also said, “As an important period for securing the 2025 government budget approaches, I hope all departments carefully review their tasks and actively discover public contest projects,” emphasizing, “Please prepare thoroughly to seize budget opportunities by utilizing all available resources such as manpower, technology, and cooperative networks.”
Mayor Lee noted, “Although Goyang Special City marks the 3rd anniversary of its elevation to a special city, it still faces limitations, such as remaining only a legal title, so all departments must make every effort to pass the Special Act supporting special cities.”
He continued, “The 77 institutional awards received in 2024 are the fruits of Goyang Special City’s policy achievements and the efforts of citizens and public officials,” adding, “Next year, each department should take a more proactive role for citizen-centered administration and sustainable development.”
The executive meeting was conducted as a progress report on key projects of the 8th elected administration. Six offices shared the current status and reviewed directions for major projects related to climate response, education, culture, transportation, and urban development, including △ Goyang City’s carbon neutrality policy △ pilot area promotion for education development special zones △ comprehensive public transportation routes △ and the creation of Changneung New Town.
