LifeSemantics Partners with Korea's First Semiconductor Packaging Manufacturer for Aerospace Business... "Promoting Global Supply"

Life Semantics announced on the 15th that it has signed a strategic business agreement (MOU) with Sphere Korea and Tris, a manufacturer of special aerospace alloys.

Under this agreement, the three companies plan to strengthen their competitiveness in the global aerospace market and pursue the development of innovative technologies and market expansion.

The main content is that Tris will supply the special alloy seamless tube for space launch vehicles, produced through orders from Sphere Korea, to the global private space launch vehicle market. Tris will be responsible for manufacturing (OEM production), Sphere Korea will support the global supply chain through technical consulting and market development, and Life Semantics plans to strengthen cooperation among the companies through investment in facilities and equipment.

Tris is a leading company in the manufacturing of stainless steel and Special Alloy Seamless Tubes. In 2006, it succeeded in producing semiconductor tubes for the first time in Korea. Since then, it has supplied various high value-added product lines to global companies such as Samsung Electronics and Hyundai Motor Company in industries including hydrogen, aerospace, petroleum, and gas. Through this agreement, Tris secured major global customers by supplying products to global private aerospace companies as a secondary vendor (sub vendor) of Sphere Korea. It recorded approximately 43.8 billion KRW in annual sales in 2023 and plans to further expand its supply to global private aerospace companies this year.

Sphere Korea is a company that develops and supplies special alloys for core components of rocket launch vehicles in the aerospace field. As a primary vendor to global private aerospace companies, it is the only company in Asia that directly supplies special alloys. Leveraging its accumulated know-how, Sphere Korea plans to provide technical consulting and problem-solving support during Tris’s production and development processes and lead the optimization of special alloy production. It will also act as a key partner in supporting Tris’s product supply in the global aerospace market.

Life Semantics, a leading company in the digital healthcare field, is currently pursuing diversification into the aerospace business and is in the process of merging with Sphere Korea. Beyond simple investment, it plans to actively support the strengthening of Tris’s manufacturing capabilities. With Life Semantics’s facility investment support, Tris is expected to enhance production efficiency through the expansion of production facilities and improvement of manufacturing processes.

A company representative stated, “Through cooperation among the three companies, we plan to build a strong value chain in the global space industry market in the mid to long term.”
