About 20 executives and members of the council, including Chairman Oh Ki-hyung of the Yangpyeong-gun Nature Conservation Council, attended the event, sharing the necessity of wildlife protection and methods of providing food. To prevent infection and spread of avian influenza (AI), participants wore protective suits and disinfected before spreading 20 kg of soybeans and 20 kg of mixed feed for birds around Yanggangseom Island.

The event was organized to supply food to wildlife struggling to find nourishment due to recent heavy snowfall, helping their survival and providing sufficient nutrition to prepare for the breeding season. It is also expected to contribute to reducing large-scale migration of migratory birds, thereby preventing the infection and spread of avian influenza (AI).

Jeon Jin-seon, the mayor of Yangpyeong-gun who participated in the event, said, "Wildlife are important members of our natural ecosystem, and protecting them is ultimately the path to coexistence between humans and nature," adding, "Continuous interest and efforts are needed going forward."

Meanwhile, the county is cooperating with the Wildlife Management Association Yangpyeong Branch, the Harmful Wildlife Damage Prevention Team, and others to carry out various activities for wildlife protection and natural environment conservation, including △support for wildlife rescue and treatment △collection of illegal traps.
