Pocheon Hantangang UNESCO Global Geopark
to Host "2025 Seollal Geo Festival"

Pocheon City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Baek Young-hyun) announced on the 15th that the Hantangang UNESCO Global Geopark will operate various events for visitors to the Hantangang UNESCO Global Geopark Center from the 27th to the 30th of the Lunar New Year holiday period (closed on the 29th).

The Hantangang UNESCO Global Geopark was re-designated as a UNESCO Global Geopark in 2024, recognized for its geological, ecological, historical, and cultural values, and is carrying out various projects and activities to promote these values.

During the Lunar New Year holiday, indoor programs at the Hantangang UNESCO Global Geopark Center will include calligraphy writing of family mottos, Gamaso dice games, and family movie screenings.

At the outdoor volcanic playground, various events such as Tuho (arrow throwing), Jegichagi (shuttlecock kicking), and Gulleongsoe (hoop rolling) will be held, allowing the whole family to enjoy and create special memories together.

Guided tours with geopark interpreters will also be available. These programs will be held three times a day at 11:00 AM, 1:30 PM, and 3:00 PM at the UNESCO Global Geopark Center, Bidulginang Waterfall, and Sky Bridge respectively. Some programs may be changed or canceled due to adverse weather conditions.

Meanwhile, the Hantangang UNESCO Global Geopark Center is closed every Tuesday, January 1st, Lunar New Year's Day, and Chuseok Day.
