Xiaomi Korea, the Korean branch of Xiaomi, unveiled a new smartphone priced between 400,000 and 600,000 KRW equipped with artificial intelligence (AI) features on the 15th. Xiaomi Korea held its first press conference at the Four Seasons Hotel Seoul in Jongno-gu, Seoul, announcing its official launch and showcasing its smart devices including the Xiaomi 14T and Redmi Note 14 Pro 5G.
The premium model, Xiaomi 14T, features a camera co-developed with the German luxury camera brand Leica. It applies Leica optical technology to deliver vivid colors and deep portrait photos even in low-light environments.
Various AI functions are also available. With 'Circle to Search,' developed in collaboration with Google, users can easily search information on the screen, and the Google AI Assistant Gemini application provides assistance with writing, learning, planning, and more. Additionally, features such as 'AI Interpreter' for real-time translation, 'AI Recorder' for converting recorded audio to text, 'AI Film' for editing captured videos into short-form content, and AI image editing are included. Xiaomi stated, "All AI functions are processed on-device to protect user data," and "They are securely protected by Xiaomi Hyper OS's triple security system." The prices are 599,800 KRW for the 256GB model and 649,800 KRW for the 512GB model.
The Redmi Note 14 Pro 5G is the latest in the Redmi Note series, which has surpassed 420 million units in global cumulative sales. The price starts at 399,300 KRW, and this product also features AI capabilities, a large 5110mAh battery, and strong durability.
On this day, Xiaomi introduced a total of five new product categories including not only smartphones but also TVs, watches, robot vacuum cleaners, and portable batteries. Notably, the Redmi Watch 5 features a 2mm ultra-slim bezel to increase screen size and significantly extends battery life up to 24 days. The price is 129,800 KRW.
At the core of the newly released smart devices is Xiaomi's next-generation operating system, HyperOS. Johnny Wu, President of Xiaomi Korea, explained, "HyperOS is a user-centered operating system developed to build a smart ecosystem connecting 'human x car x home.'"
He emphasized, "Going forward, we will establish ourselves as a localized company in Korea, listen to fans' opinions, and meet consumer expectations in all aspects including products, services, and after-sales service. We will expand consumer choices with optimal services and diverse product lineups and grow step by step to become a trusted brand." The products announced will be released sequentially from today through early February.
