The Yeosu Kkumbada Children's Library is scheduled to open in March 2026, with a total project cost of 13 billion KRW. The new building will have a floor area of 2,824.56 square meters, with one basement level and three floors above ground.

The detailed facilities will include an infant reading room, a children's reading room, a general reference room, a shared parenting space, Dongbaek Maru, a book cafe, a puppet theater, and a rooftop deck. The library is expected to be developed as an open, multi-purpose cultural space where communication and relaxation coexist.

Previously, the city finalized the name 'Yeosu Kkumbada Children's Library' through a national naming contest in 2023 and completed administrative procedures such as selecting a construction company in December last year.

Mayor Jung Kimyung said, "We carefully designed the space so that children can freely play and stay close to books," and added, "I hope the Yeosu Kkumbada Children's Library will support children as they venture into the wider world and become a foundation for Yeosu as a child-friendly city."
