Uijeongbu City Sends Emergency Alert, Urges Caution

At around 8:38 PM on the 14th, a fire broke out at a bedding manufacturing factory in Yonghyeon Industrial Complex, Yonghyeon-dong, Uijeongbu-si, Gyeonggi Province, and the fire authorities are currently extinguishing it.

The fire authorities issued a Level 1 response at 8:56 PM. However, as the fire spread to an adjacent factory, they escalated to a Level 2 response at 9:22 PM and are currently working to extinguish the fire. A total of 98 personnel and 50 pieces of equipment have been mobilized for firefighting operations.

With black smoke and flames rising, 16 fire-related reports have been received so far. No casualties have been reported at this time.

A fire official stated, "Measures have been taken to prevent the fire from spreading to surrounding buildings," and added, "It will take more time until the fire in the building currently being extinguished is completely out."

Meanwhile, Uijeongbu City has sent out a notification message requesting nearby vehicles to take detours.
