Morning Meeting Held, but Differences Remain

Amid speculation that the re-execution of the arrest warrant for President Yoon Suk-yeol is imminent, it has been confirmed that the High-ranking Officials' Crime Investigation Unit (PCC) received an official letter from the Presidential Security Service requesting a summary of personal information and the purpose of visits.

According to the PCC, on the morning of the 14th, the Security Service sent an official letter to the PCC stating that identity verification is required when entering a secure area. This is interpreted as the Security Service's response to the PCC's letter sent on the 12th requesting cooperation in executing the arrest warrant for President Yoon.

However, it is understood that the Security Service's recent letter does not imply cooperation in executing the arrest warrant if personal information and the purpose of the visit are disclosed.

Earlier, the PCC, police, and Security Service held a three-party meeting for about an hour in the morning to discuss the execution of the arrest warrant for President Yoon. The police and PCC requested the Security Service's cooperation for a safe and peaceful execution of the warrant, but they were unable to narrow their differences with the Security Service.

Later in the afternoon, the Security Service issued a statement saying that prior approval from the person in charge is mandatory to enter the presidential residence, and that "any illegal execution will be dealt with according to relevant laws and in accordance with the existing security operation manual."
